| Chalcedony is a cryptocrystalline variety of Quartz (meaning that Chalcedony has the same chemical composition as Quartz, but that the individual crystals can only be seen under a microscope). Sub-varieties of Chalcedony include Agate, Bloodstone, Carnelian, Hawk Eye, Jasper, Onyx, Petrified Wood, Pietersite, Tiger Iron, and Tiger Eye. |
